MEETING MINUTES

FROM THE GENERAL MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 15, 2008

10 members were present: Nadine Charlsen, Eileen Conner, Mary Creede, , Keen Gat, Deborah Glassberg, Karen Hart, Arnold Levine, Adele Recklies; Stanley Sherman, and Anne-Marie Wright.

Arnold called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. at O’Flaherty’s Pub.

SOURCEBOOKS: Arnold announced that the latest edition will be in the stores by the end of the month.  He reminded members that ATAC gets a portion of the proceeds if you go to Amazon via ATAC’s website www.atacbiz.com.  The Amazon link has paid for both of our websites.

TREASURY: Arnold reported that we have $5471 in the bank account and a few outstanding bills.  We should get some money from Applause.  We may still have one $5000 certificate of deposit.  The board is keeping money set aside for the day when Applause decides that they don’t want to publish the sourcebook.  Nadine added that Applause is looking ahead to the 2011 edition.

WEBSITE: Arnold mentioned that Marty is getting frustrated because he needs to know what we want to put up on the website.  Any links or business information for Marty should go to mvstudio@aol.com  Marty also told Arnold that we need to simplify the website and he would like to have a meeting about that subject.  Nadine and Anne-Marie both offered their space for a meeting.

MISCELLANEOUS: Arnold said that Cindy and Marty are trying to set up a lecture by someone from the Volunteers Lawyers for the Arts.  Cindy is also trying to get us reinstated in Freelancers Union.

MEMBERSHIP: Anne-Marie passed out the new ATAC brochures.  Eileen suggested that we add “est. 1981 NYC” to the brochure.  People took brochures to pass out.  Arnold asked members to think about how to get new members.

WEBSITE COMMITTEE: The current committee consists of Nadine, Deborah, and  Jim Seffens.  They need more help.  Mary volunteered to proofread the newsletter.

ELECTIONS: The proposed officer slate is
President: Arnold Levine
Vice-President: empty but Nadine Charlsen might take the position
Treasurer: Cindy Fain
Corresponding Secretary: Deborah Glassberg
Recording Secretary: Adele Recklies
Board of Directors:: Mary Creed, Stanley Sherman,  Anne-Marie Wright, and Karen Hart.

Arnold moved that we accept the election slate.  Anne-Marie seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.

BARGE CEMENT: Stanley passed out some literature from Barge about the new toluene-free and VOC-free cement.  He suggested that we ask them to do a demonstration at a meeting.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:00 p.m..

Respectfully submitted by Adele Recklies.
